Postcard Exchange - A conversation around the coast
A creative exchange of handmade photographic postcards connecting young people from coastal towns across the UK (Whitehaven, Blackpool, Weston-super-Mare and Tendring).
Participants in their local area, explore culture and identity, using photography and visual storytelling as part of the current workshop programme. The workshops result in a selection of images to be printed as postcards. Participants exchange postcards between the towns, creating a conversation between young people in different coastal locations, encouraging understanding and connection, through commonalities, shared experience and hopes for the future. The postcards will be presented as part of the exhibition Against the Tide, in various locations, either in their original form (including the written correspondence) or re-printed as exhibition copies.
