Huaxi the richest 'village' in China (2005)
Returning to China in 2005, Braden documented life and work in one of the fastest growing sectors of the country's manufacturing industry. Huaxi brands itself as a viallge, although it is a systematic agglomeration of dozens of villages with migrant workers now making up most of the workforce. Built on an unusally paternalistic ethos, it has become a major centre for the production of steel and textiles.
